Happy New Year 2006 everyone!!!
I just can't believe how fast, that 2005 went. It feels like only
yesterday, that 2005 started. Over all 2005, was a great year.
Just like every year it had it's high and low points.
Today Rob
and me did not really do that much at all. Not really much you
can do on New Years Day. Since everything is closed. So we just
spend most of the day on our laptops, looking at website's and
chatting to each other. We did have a family meal. With my Mum
and Dad, and my big bother Douglas. Craig did not, join us, when
having the meal. Because he was too tired from being out last
night. The meal was very nice. But then it would be, since my
Mum made it. So thanks Mum your the best.
In the evening Rob
and me made a start on watching the second series of Quantum Leap.
That he got me for Christmas. We only watched the first time of
disk 1 and that took us about 3 hours. I can't wait to watch more
tomorrow. Quantum Leap is so good. If you have never watched it
before, then you should really go out and get it on DVD.
After Quantum Leap, we played about on the Internet some more.
Before going to bed at about 2:00am. |
Tuesday - 3rd January 2006 |
Rob
and me both got out of bed at about 12:00pm. We then both a shower.
But not both at same time, I will add. I will really miss my folks
shower room. When I go back to England later today. It's so nice
it feels like you have walked into a five star hotel when your
open the door. You can really tell they spend £6,000 to
do it.
Once Rob and me were done having shower and getting dressed.
We then started the job that I do really hate. And that is getting
everything packed for getting the train back down to England.
I hate it because it always takes so long. I also always worry,
that I will forget to pack something. And end up leaving in it
Scotland.
Once we had done all the packing. We then both watched Neighbours on BBC1.
Then after that I cooked us both some lunch. Then we spend the
rest of the afternoon, chatting to each other and playing about
on the Internet. Till it was time to go into Glasgow to get our train.
My Dad very nicely give us both a lift into Glasgow. He parked
Concert Square car park. Then he walked down with us, to Glasgow
Central train station. When we got there the train was there
waiting for us. It did take us a wee while to work out where it
was. Since it was, not at platform one where, we normally get
the 6:00pm GNER service to Peterborough from. This time it was at normally nine.
Once we both found our seats. We both said good-bye to my Dad
and thanked him for the lift into Glasgow.
While we were both waiting for the train to set off. I quickly
run to W.
H. Smiths in the train station, to get us both something to
drink. I know we could have get something on the train to drink,
but that would have cost more.
The train set off from Glasgow at 6:00pm. So it was right on time. Which is always nice, just
hope it gets to Peterborough on time.
As normal train between Glasgow and Edinburgh was very quiet.
When it got to Edinburgh it went mad. As 100's of people all got
on the train. You always get, at least one who is crying. Since
they have just spend New Year with the person they love. And are
so upset to say good-bye to them.
The train journey was a bit boring really. There was no fit people
to look at other then my boyfriend
Rob. I just most of the journey listening to music on my iPod
and trying to get more of my news updated. |
Thursday - 5th January 2006 |
Rob
and me did not get up till very late today. Because we were both
up to 6:00am. Why so late, I bet you want to know. Well it's a
bit boring really. I made up my mind to try to get Linux installed
on a extra hard drive that I have for my laptop. It should have
only taken up 2 hours. But when it comes to computers, nothing
is that easy.
I don't like computers, getting the better of me. So I stayed
up till 6:00am. Getting it working. I was only happy to get to
bed, when it was at least booting and would let me on the Internet.
Just incase you wanted to know what Linux I insatlled I went for Fedora Core
4. Since I had heard it was good.
Which now I have it working. I am sure I will like it. It took
so long to install, because it turned out the DVD the install
files on was not right.
Once we got out of bed. I played about on Linux for most of the
day. Before we both got ready and went to my works party. Which
was at the Peterborough
Greyhound Stadium. It was good night. He both had fun. It
was good for Rob
at long last to get to meet most of the people that I work with.
Oh and of course it was good that they all got to meet him at
long last.
Once back home. We had some food, before going to bed. |
Sunday - 22rd January 2006 |
Rob
and me have now been going out for 1 year and 11 months. So in just
one months time, we will have been going out for 2 years. I still
have no idea really what we are going to do for it. Then I asked
people for ideas, only one person send me some. I am not going to
what the idea was. But if anyone else does have any good ideas,
what we could both do. Then please, let
me know. |
Monday - 23th January 2006 |
Just to let you all know that
I am now doing test runs of a podcast on my website. To find out
more and how to subscribe click here.
It will mainly be a voice version of this news page. It will never
replace this page, so don't worry. |
Friday - 27th January 2006 |
I
did not get much sleep at last night. Because I was so excited.
Since I am getting up Humax
PVR-9200T though the post today at some point. I woke up at
about 8:00am. No why was I getting out of bed, that early in the
morning. So I just stayed in bed and listened to BBC
Radio 1. Then I got up at about 10:00am. Then I had a shower.
Then I checked my email. I am still getting use to using Mozilla
Thunderbird. Mainly because it's so nice and deletes most
of the SPAM that I get for me. So indeed for having to go tough
about 40 emails, I get about 10 now.
Then I just spend the rest of the time, playing on the Internet
and listen to BBC
Radio 1. Then at about 12:30pm. I was very happy, when I heard
someone knocking on the front door. As it very a nice delivery
man, with my Humax
PVR-9200T. I run up the stairs and opened it's box. All that
I that say is, it that it's well cool. I then spend about 30 minutes,
setting it up all, in it's new home, just under on TV on my door.
OK. Since I beat that most of you will not even know, what a Humax
PVR-9200T is, I better tell you. It's a bit like $ky+, but
it's for Freeview. It's does cool things like, let you watch one
channel, when recording another one. Record 2 channels at once
while watched a previous recording. It also gets record up to
100 hours with it's 160GB HDD.
So as you may tell, I am well happy with my new toy. So as you
may have worked out, I just spend most of the day playing about
with it, before. I had to go to work at the dog track in the evening. |
Wednesday - 8th February 2006 |
At
long last I got my Top Up CAM, which I ordered from EmpireDirect a good number of weeks ago. When I ordered it they did say it
would take a good number of weeks for me to get it, since they
had none left in stock. I am glad that I now have it. It means
that I can watch the Top Up TV channels again, that I pay for.
Using my Humax
PVR-9200T, Freeview box.
I also got a new very sexy black shirt from Top Man today. That
I ordered on Sunday, I think it was. I would say, it's the nicest
black shirts that I have ever had. So when I have the money, I
think I will need to get some more like it for work.
That's all my news for today really. The rest of the day, I did
my normal stuff and in the evening, like most Wednesdays, I was
working at the dog
track. |
Thursday - 9th February 2006 |
Today at long last I got my
clipless pedals, that I ordered from Chain
Reaction Cycles, on Sunday. I say at long last, because they
are normally very fast. So I was hoping I would get them on Tuesday.
They turned up in the end so that was the main thing.
Then I spend a good while getting them on my bike. Taken off
my old pedals and putting on the clipless pedals, was nice and
easy. The hard bit was working out how to change and get the settings
right. Lucky while looking on the Internet I found a great website
on how to do it. So if like me you, have never had clipless pedals,
before. Then check out www.chainreactionbicycles.com/pedalfaq.htm.
It tells you everything that you need to know.
Once I was happy, I had my pedals on my bike working ok. I went
to Morrisons to get myself some food. I had food in the house. But nothing
that I felt like having really. Once back from the shops, I cooked
myself lunch and of course eat it while watching Neighbours on BBC1.
Then I just played about on the Internet for the rest of the afternoon.
Then in the evening at about 6:30pm. I made up my mind to be
brave and go out a cycle, with my clipless pedals, for the very
first time. I was just a bit worried I, would come off my bike.
I have heard all the stories of people when they first use them,
taking a while to get use to them. And not getting there feet
out it time, when they stop. You will be glad to hear, I took
to like like a duck to water and did not come off. Thank god.
Once back from my cycle I warmed myself up, then watched EastEnders.
Then I phoned Mum and Dad up in Scotland, to see how things were
going back home. Then I chatted to my boyfriend
Rob for a while, watched way to much crap on TV, before going
to bed . |
Satursday - 11th February 2006 |
Today
I just did the normal Gordon Saturday type stuff. Stayed in bed
for far too long. The only thing that got me out of my bed was
the post man, when he knocked on the door. I am sure he does it,
just before he likes seeing me in my sexy England football shorts .
I was happy before he had some post for me. He had the Richard
Ashcroft called "Keys To The World" that I ordered
from Play.com a number of days ago.
Since I was now fully awake. I had a nice long, very hot shower.
Then I of course out my new CD on to see what it's like. Which
of course I really liked it. If you have now idea who Richard
Ashcroft, is. I will just tell you, he use to be the lead singer
in The Verve.
I spend the rest of the afternoon having my lunch, watching stuff
on TV and listening to music. That at about 4:00pm. I make up
my mind, to go cycle and see if I was still good with my new pedals.
Which I was. Now I am getting use to them, I think there great.
Don't think I could go back to my old ones.
Once back from the cycle is was time to get ready and go to work.
Work was OK, not great, but OK. I was working with Becci, on bar
2. Hope that is how you spell it. If not, I am sure she will soon
tell me. That's all I can really say about work.
Then after work. I did someone very nice and it made a nice change.
For once I was feeling in a social mood. Which with me does not
happen to often. So after work, I went out a nice drink with Adam
(the cute straight guy in the photo), Freddie and Becci. We went
to the The Draper’s Arms, which was very nice. I had never
been there before. It was good, it's was all non-smoking. It was
nice going out after work and having a drink, a soft one, I must
add, since I don't drink.
It was great fun chatting to Adam, Freddie and Becci. We were
out, till about 1:30am. When they killed us out, since they were
closing. So thanks to them all for a great evening out after work.
I will need to do it more often I think.
By the time I got home, it was gone 2:00am. So I chatted to my
Rob for a bit, before going to bed. |
Monday - 13th February 2006 |
I
got up at about 10:45am. Then I run down stairs and jumped in
the shower. Once out the shower, I turned on my computer. Quickly
checked my email. Then I got myself ready and drove to Stamford.
Once in Stamford, I went to the bank, to pay, last weeks pay
in. Then I went to Clinton
Cards, to get my boyfriend
Rob, a Valentine's Day card. I always worry, when I get him
a Valentine's Day card. Just incase he also ends up getting me
the same one.
Once done in Stamford. I got back into my car and drove to Rugby,
to pick up my Rob.
When I got to his house, we was all ready and waiting for me.
Once he had put all his clothes and laptop etc in my car.
Then we called in at his Aunt Mags house. Who I had never seen
before. To try to fix her Son, laptop so he could access the Internet
using there wireless router. I spend at least 2 hours trying to
get it, to work. Had to give up in the end. I have no idea, why
it would not work. As Rob's
laptop is the same. And his one worked straight away. Well, at
least I tired my best. And it was of course also nice to get to
meet more of his family. So at least one good thing come from
it.
Once we were done their. It was then time for me, to drive us
both back to Stamford. While going though Stamford, we called
in at Morrisons,
to get lots of food and drink for the week ahead.
Then once back in Little
Bytham. I had fun showing off my new Humax
PVR-9200T freeview box and my new clipless pedals for my bike.
He also had fun showing off his new "Canon Powershot A620"
Digital Camera to me. Which I must say is well cool.
After we had both finished showing off out new toys. I cooked
us both some dinner. Then we both chatted and played about on
the Internet of course. Then I asked if he mind if, I went out
a cycle for a while. Which he very nicely said he did not mind.
So I went for a nice 9 mile cycle in the dark. Don't worry, I
have very good lights on my bike. The photo above is me in me
sexy cycling gear, once back from the cycle.
Once back from the cycle. We both watched some stuff on TV. Then
after that. he let me try out a new toy that he got me for Valentine's
day. I am not going to say what is it. All that, I can tell you
tell is that we're both going to have great fun with it.
Then after all that, it was time for us both to go to bed. |
Tuesday - 14th February 2006 |
I
would like to wish my boyfriend
Rob a happy St. Valentine's day.
The photo is the Valentine's Day, card's that we got each other.
The one that I got my boyfriend
Rob is on the left. |
Wednesday - 15th February 2006 |
Rob
and me got up at about 12:15pm. We would have got up later. I
think if it was not for the postman waken, us both up. I was happy
that he did, because he had the flowers that Rob, had send to
me for Valentine's day. They first come Monday, but I was not
in to sign for them. I got them, so that's the main thing. So
thanks for much indeed to my boyfreind
Rob for getting them. Your a great boyfriend. The best that
I could wish for.
Once we got sorted out the flowers and put them in water. We
both did the normal, boring stuff that you do, once out of bed.
We both had shower and so on.
Then we just played about on the Internet, till Neighbours was on BBC1.
Which of course we both watched. Neighbours is so cool. How anyone could not like it, I have no idea at all.
Then after Neighbours.
We both had fun, taken some new photos for my Wetsuitlads
website. All I am going to say, is that, we both wore a sexy
white cycling skin suit. That I got off eBay a while ago. And also used something else that he got me for Valentine's
Day.
Then
after taken all the photos we had lunch and eat it while watching Holby
City, that I recorded Tuesday night. Then we both played about
on the Internet for some more. Then before, no time at all, it
was time for me to get ready and go to work.
Work was a bit boring. The place was full. But people did not
want to drink much at all. So I was happy when work was over for
the evening. On the way back home, I called in at Tesco, to get
some things for Rob
and me to eat and drink.
Once home, Rob
and me just chatted for a bit. Watched some TV. Then it was off
to bed for us both. |
Thursday - 16th February 2006 |
Rob
and me got up at about 12:30pm. Like every time, once out of bed,
we both had showers. Then we both played about the Internet like
we do everyday. Then for some reason, I was in a cleaning mood.
So I spend about 1 hour, giving the bath room a clean. It's the
cleaned it's looked all year. But I know someone else in the house
uses it. It will go back to square one.
Once the bath room was all nice and clean. Rob
and me of course then watched Neighbours on BBC1.
Then after that, I cooked us both some lunch. Then we spend the
rest of the afternoon, watching the first four episodes of the
6 series of "As Time Goes By". I got it on DVD a number
of weeks ago. But I had to be a good boy and wait. Till my boyfriend
was over, to watch it with him.
That took us up till about 6:00pm. Then I mind up my mind, so
it was a nice evening to go out on my bike. So I got dressed in
all my sexy cycling gear and off I went. I did a 12 mile cycle.
So in other words, the longest one, that I have done so far this
year. I am doing very well so far this year, with all my cycling.
So far this month I have done, 51 miles. Which is 22 more miles
then I did in February of last year.
Once back from the cycle and I had a wee rest. Then we both watched
Seaside Rescue on BBC1.
Then I cooked us both dinner. Then we both watched the rest of
"As Time Goes By" on DVD. How we have watched the whole
of series 6, we have to wait for another month, till series 7
comes out on DVD.
After that, we both spend the rest of the evening, chatting,
updating both of our websites. Before going to bed at about 3:00am |
Wednesday - 22nd February 2006 |
It's Rob
and my two year anniversary today!!! I can't believe just now
long we have been going out for now. It does not feel that long
at all. So Rob, just to remind you, I really, really LOVE YOU!
xxx
I just wish I could have spend the day with him. But I could
not, since he had college. Then we next meet up, I am sure, we
will more then make up for it. |
Thursday - 2rd March 2006 |
I woke up at about 11:00am.
But I did not get out of bed, till about 12:30pm. Because I made
the very bit mistake of, turning on the TV. I then found myself
watching two episodes "Location,
Location, Location" on Discovery
Real Time. Once I did make it out of bed, I had a nice shower.
Then of course got dressed. Then I did the fun job of emptying
the dish washer. It really at times, does my head in. There is
three other people in the house, but of some reason it's next,
to me who always some how ends up doing it.
Once I had done that. I spend a while giving the business directory
and some other pages of theBythams
website a much needed update. Then I chatted to some mates
on MSN for a while. Then watched, yes, you guessed it Neighbours.
Then I cooked myself some lunch. Then I did more work to theBythams
website and also fixed some one mistakes on Wetsuitlads.
Then I played about on the net, listened to Scott
Mills on BBC
Radio 1. He's so, so funny. If your have never listened to
him, then your really missing out. Once if you don't listen then
your missing out on Laura's diary, which is normally on at about
5:15pm. But you can never tell, since Scott's time keeping is
not really that great. The number of times, I come close to being
late for work, before of Laura's diary. Because I don't want to
leave the house, till I have heard it.
Then at about 6:45pm. I looked at outside, to check that it was
not snowing. Since it was not. I got dressed in lots layers of
cycling gear to keep me nice and warm. Since the max temperature
was about -3C. So in other words, very, very cold. By the time,
I have all my warm cycling gear on, if anything I get to hot.
It's far better then being two cold.
Once back from my cycle. I had a nice hot drink, then I watched
"Run of the Glory" which is about 13 people, training
to run the London Marathon in just six months. It was very good
indeed. Can't wait to watch it next week, to see how they are
getting on. Then after that I watched EastEnders.
Then I phoned my Mum and Dad, to see how they are doing, that
they have been up to. And of course the very British thing to
do, chat about the weather .
Then I spend the rest of the evening, giving my news pages on
this website a much needed update. Spoke to my great boyfriend
Rob of course and listened to the great Scottish Gaelic band Runrig.
Before going to bed at about 1:30am. |
Thursday - 9th March 2006 |
Rob and me broke up today.
After just over 2 years of going out. We have broken up before.
But this time, I would say it's for good. I just don't think that
things have been 100% right for a while. So it's going to feel
a bit weird being single again. After spending a great 2 years
of my life with Rob.
But I still feel it's for the best. Well I hope that I have done
the right thing. But only time will tell. At least I think that
Rob and me will stay good friends. Which is something that David,
my last boyfriend and me, could not really do. |
Friday - 10th March 2006 |
Today not really done that
much at all. Other then the my normal stuff. Like watching TV,
eat etc. I did get the new Arctic
Monkeys, album today though the post, that I ordered on Tuesday
from Play.com.
So spend a good bit of the afternoon listen to that.
Other then that I got a email from the "Edinburgh
Bicycle Cooperative", that I feel I need to tell you all about.
So below is the email.
"Every cyclist should be aware that The Driving Standards
Agency is currently revising the Highway Code. This includes a
proposal to urge cyclists to 'use cycle routes when practicable
and cycle facilities ... where they are provided (Rule 58)'.
This sounds like common sense until you consider the implications.
What if you were hit by a car on a road near a cycle path
and the lawyer or insurance company defending the motorist used
the alibi that the accident wouldn't have occured if you had stuck
to the cycle path? What if you consider your local off-road cycle
path less safe after dark than a lit road? How many cycle paths
have a sign at every access point to alert potential users of
their existence?
The Driving Standards Agency's proposal ignores the decisions
every one of us takes whenever we travel. One day we'll choose
the safest route. Next day, the quickest and most convenient.
On Sunday, when time is not a consideration, you might take the
prettiest. All these factors come into play whether we cycle,
walk or drive. The problem with this proposal is that, for the
first time, it questions the cyclist's equal right to use the
public road (bar motorways / dual carriageways). And it ignores
the fact that whenever you choose to cycle rather than take the
car you are part of the solution to the ever-growing problems
of road congestion, danger, pollution and global warming. Cyclists
are not the problem, yet, once again, we are being singled out
by the bureaucrats. The Driving Standards Agency's brains are
obviously crying out for oxygen. We suggest a brisk road ride.
The CTC (Cyclist's Touring Club) are heading the campaign
against this bad proposal. They have even penned a suggested email,
automatically addressed to your MP. See ctc.org for the full story. http://www.ctc.org.uk/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabID=4303"
If like me, you feel strongly about this and live in the UK,
then please email or write to your MP or MSP about it. You can
email them using the link a above, in the email that they send
me to. |
Monday - 13th March 2006 |
Please could everyone reading
this please take a minute or two of your busy day, to remember those
who died in the Dunblane Massacre. Which happened 10 years ago today.

Today
at long last my new microphone turned up that I ordered from Amazon.co.uk a number of weeks ago. Now I have it at long last, I am well happy
with it. In case you want to know what one I got it's a "Sony
FV-420B Vocal Mic". It cost £17.63. You can tell it's
a good mic, since it's a got a cannon connector, OFC wire and
gold plated plug.
To listen to my first podcast using my new microphone. Check
out my podcast
page and listen to "episode 7". Please could you
also leave feedback using that page, and tell me what you think
of my podcast's so far. |
Tuesday - 21st March 2006 |
I got waken up at about 7:30am.
By people in the house making lots of noise. It does my head in,
it really does. If I do that, then I get told off. But it's OK
for everyone else to do it. Since I was awake anyway. I turned
on my desktop PC, to let it finish off downloading the rest of Fedora Core
5, which I started downloading last night. It's taken so long,
because it's a 3 gigabyte file. Which even when downloading with
a 2Mbps line, it still takes a good number of hours.
Once I was happy that the rest of it was downloading . And everyone
in the house had gone off, to work etc. I got back to sleep thank
god. And did not waken up again till about 11:30am. Which was
better, 7:30am is way to early for me. Then I got out of bed and
checked to see if rest of the 3 gigabyte Fedora
Core 5 image file had, downloaded which, it had.
Then I burn the image file to a DVD. Which took just over one
hour. If I had a faster PC, it would be a lot faster. My PC is
at least 5 years old. So it's not doing so badly for a PC, what
is that old. While the file was burning to DVD. I had a shower,
got dressed and had some breakfast cereal. By the time I had done
at all. The DVD had finished burning.
Then I started the fun job of upgrading from Fedora Core 4 to
Fedora Core 5. It was the first time, that I had ever done it.
I started it at about 12:30pm. It was not done till just after
3:30pm. That may sound like a long time. If you think about it.
It's far faster then installing Windows is. Since when you install
Windows you, really just get the OS. With Fedora Core, you get
Apace, Firefox, Openoffice, and way to many other things to list
here.
Once it was all installed. I had a quick play about with it.
I must say, that it run's a lot faster then the version before
it did. Once I had played with it for a while. Since it was dry
outside. I went out a quick cycle to Castle
Bytham and back again.
Once back from the cycle, I had a quick wash. Then it was off
to the dog
track. It was a not bad evening at work. The only bad thing,
is that one of my bosses had a right go at me, for something that
I did never did. Oh well, these happens happen. The rest of the
evening was not too bad at all. I was working with Freddie on
bar 2. So hello Freddie. I know that you like reading your name
on my website .
Once I was back home from work. I played about with Fedora
Core 5 some more. It's so good. I am starting to find it far
better then Windows is. It runs faster. When you do updates, you
don't need to reboot. And best of all it's 100% free.
Then I watched Holby
City that I had recorded on my Humax
PVR 9200T, Freeview box. Just incase you have not heard me speak about this box before.
It's like $ky+. You can record up to 100 hours with it. Record
two channels at once, while watching a third one, and well cool
things like that. That is off, of to bed for me at about 2:00am. |
Friday - 24th March 2006 |
I wake up at about 12:00pm.
My bed was so nice and warm. I did not get out of bed till about
1:00pm. Yes very bad I know. I could not help it. You can't beat
a nice warm bed. Once out of bed, I of course had a shower. Had
some breakfast cereal. Then I had more fun playing about with Fedora Core
5. It's the most fun I have had using a computer in a long
time. Since I am learning lots of new things. I had fun playing
about with Apache on it. Incase you don't know what Apache is.
It's a webserver. I am sure that no doubt, this website will be
hosted on a Apache server.
Today I of course also watched Neighbours on BBC1.
It's so good. I do feel so sorry for Steph in it right now. I
just hope that her and Max sort things out. Yes I know it's only
a soap. it's just so, so good. Other then that, did not really
do much.
Oh but I did get a letter today from my local Tory MP Quentin
Davies. It was about changes to the Highway
Code, that I am not at all happy about. Read my news from
"Friday 10th - March 2006" to see what I am speaking
about. Here is what is letter back to me said:-
" Dear Mr Valentine
Thank you for your recent email about the new draft of the
revised Highway Code. I have, as requested, send a copy of your
letter to the Minster responsible at the Department for Transport
so that he is aware of your comments and can take them into account
in the consultation exercise.
I think that this revision of the "Code" is the
result of far too many bureaucrats having far too little to do.
Yours " then I can't read the rest. I guess it's
just his name.
I like it when my MP writes to me. This is the second letter
that I have had from him. The first one I got was about GNER.
So back to the revised Highway Code. I just hope that lots of
people like me have contacted their local MPs. To stop this revised Highway
Code from happening.
Yes and of course you guessed it. In the evening I was working
at the dog
track. I was hoping for a nice quiet evening. It's not normally
that busy on a Friday night. But for some reason, the Raceview
Restaurant was just about full. At least when it's busy like that.
You don't have much time to get bored. Since your so busy running
about. In total they sold 55 bottles of wine. Coming to a grand
total of £561. So a hell of a lot of work for me to do.
Once I was back home, I played about with Fedora
Core 5 some more. Before going to bed at about 3:00am. |
Thursday - 30th March 2006
MP3 version: Episode 13 (128 kbps, 3:39 minutes) |
I had a very busy day. Since the weather was nice today. I really wanted, to make the most of it. In the morning. I did the normal stuff, like getting out of bed, is alway good. Had a shower. Then I played about on the Internet for a while. Checked my email and things like that.
In the afternoon. I of course watched Neighbours on BBC1. Then I went outside in the back garden. And did a job, that I really do hate doing and that is pick up all the dog crap. Well someone does to do it. Since no, one else in the house does it. I guess it's something that I need to do. Once I had double checked that all the dogs crap as gone. I give the back grass a cut. It's the second cut it's had this year. Which means it's already had more cuts, then my hair this year. LOL.
Then after that I took Pebbles out of a nice walk. She is doing well, she's been out everyday, so far this week. Since the weather is nice, I may as well try and make the most of it.
Once back from walking the dog. I cooked myself some lunch. Then I went outside and give the inside of my car, a much needed clean. With staying in the countryside, it gets muddy inside, very fast.
Then I give my room a good clean. I even give under the bed a good clean. Which is something, I hate doing. But it really had to be done. Then I just played about on the net and listened to music, for a good number of hours.
Then in the evening at about 7:40pm, I guess it was. I made up my mind to go out a cycle. So I got dressed in my cycling tights, with cycling shorts, over the tops of them. As it's still a wee bit cold to go out in just cycling shorts. I also wear my long sleeve cycling jersey.
Then I set off on my bike. The cycle was going well. Till I got to the road, between Corby Glen and Swayfield. When I heard a popping like sound. And next thing my back tyre, was as flat, as a pancake.
I just could not believe it. I did not have a mobile or anything on me. So I could not even home anyway, to try to get HELP!! So the only think, I could do was to get off my bike and start to walk. I walked with my bike, for a bit, till I found a safe place I could hide it.
As if you have ever tried walking with a bike for a long time. You will know that it does really slow you down.
So once my bike was in a safe place. I started the fun of walking the 6 miles back to my house.
I would normally find walking 6 miles easy. But as I soon found out, that walking for a long time in cycling shoes is not that easy. Since my shores have medal toe spikes. So I was glad that the route, I had picked to walk home, was mainly off road.
It also felt a bit weird walking for 6 miles in my cycling gear. I was glad it was dark. So there were not many people about, to see me. I could tell, I was getting some funny looks from people passing, me in there cars.
I did not get back home, till just after 9:30pm. The fun did end there. I then got changed out of my cycling gear. Then I put my bike rack on the back of my bike. And had to drive the 6 miles back, to pick up on my bike.
I was so glad when me and my bike were both back home, all safe. I would normally, say safe and well. My bike is feeling a bit sorry for it's self. But I am sure, it will be easier to fix.
So that was my fun Thursday!!! At least you can't say, that I had a boring day! LOL! |
