Sorry that I have not updated this blog, in a long, long time. Just been very busy indeed, trying to sort out the John O’Groats to Lands End cycle, that Mike and myself are doing in August. At long last, I have just about fully sorted out the route. I have also booked all, of the accommodation, other than two nights because two of the Youth Hostel's are fully booked. The two which are fully booked are Carbisdale Castle and Treyarnon Bayand.

To see what else, I have been doing End to End cycle wise, check out my End to End cycle website.

Today I was working in Cardiff, in Wales, helping to teach a first aid course. First time, I have been to Wales since I was a wee kid.
Monday - 27th April 2009
Today I was working up in Castleford, near to Leeds, helping to teach a first aid course.
Tuesday - 28th April 2009

Today I was working in South Woodford, which is a suburb of north-east London. Again helping to teach a first aid course.

I am now on twitter. Yes I know, I am way, way behind the times on this one. You can now follow me @ www.twitter.com/gsvalentine.

Today I was working up in Castleford again. And yes helping to teach first aid course. So third course of the week, it's now starting to get bit boring to say the least. On our lunch break Alex (the one I am helping to teach the course with) and myself went a walk to Junction 32, which is a outlet shopping village. Where I got myself two new t-shirts.

Then once I got back home. I went to Mike's, since I had booked the evening off my evening job. We went out for a nice meal to the local Little Chef on the A1. It was so nice to get to see him again. Since we had not seen each other since 19th April, since we both have been working so much.

Once I got back home, I went straight to bed at like 10:30pm, which is not like me at all. But I needed to get up at 5:45am, the day night, to go to Ellesmere Port, for another first aid course.

Mike and myself, have now been going out, for 3 years.

Sunday - 21st June 2009
The main thing that I did today, was to go out a cycle with the love of my life Mike. We went a cycle from his house in Orton Malborne, to the Redwings Service Station, which is 10 miles down the old A1 from his house. So a 20 mile cycle in total, not the longest cycle in the world, but hey it's better then nothing at all.

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will know that in August, Mike and myself are cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End, to raise money for the National Autistic Society. And were hoping to get some cycling jerseys made up for the cycle, with the End to End website URL on it and also the National Autistic Society logo. So I emailed the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium, the place that I would, if they know of anyone that could get them made up for us. Since the only place we have found wants £150 for two cycling jerseys. I could not believe it, when they said don't worry about the cost we will pay for it. If you put out logo on it, and say "sponsored by". So that made my day!!!

In other news. In the evening, I went out a 30 mile cycle. I was on fire, I did the cycle in 1 hour, 53 minutes, 50 seconds, with a average speed of 15.9 mph. It was the first time, that I have used my new PBK Team Long Sleeve Skinsuit 2009, that I got from Probikekit.com for £71.24. It's so tight, I think it helped me to cycle faster then normal.

Today I got up at 6:00am. So that I would have time, to get showed, have some breakfast. Before Alex come around to give us both a lift to train station in Grantham to get the 7:25am National Express East Coast service to Edinburgh Waverley. Oh I guess, I should say why we went to Edinburgh, that's because we were teaching First Aid Course, for Pizza Hut. The train got us into Edinburgh 11:09am, but the course did not start till 2pm. So we dropped the gear off at the Pizza Hut. Then went for a nice walk around Edinburgh. The weather was great, the best weather I have ever been to Edinburgh in. I think, it at least 24C if not hotter.

So to kill the 3 hours we had before the course started, we went looking for the Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Operative. I have got many things from them before, but only on-line. It's the first time that I have been into their shop. I could not believe how big it was. Oh and thanks to Alex I have made up my mind, what new bike I am going to get for doing the End to End cycle. I am going to get a Marin Muirwoods 29ER '09. It will need to wait, till I have paid off the car road TAX that is on my credit card.

Once done looking at all the great stuff at the Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Operative. It was back out into the sun to walk back to the Pizza Hut, to get some food. Then start the course, the course had just 7 people on it. I am glad it did not have any more. The room we were in, did not have any air-con, it was HOT to say the least!!! Everyone said the course was very good. Only bad comments we got was how hot the room was.

Once the course was done, it was back to the Edinburgh Waverley, to get the 7pm National Express East Coast service back to Grantham. I was so glad when I was back home and in bed.

Thursday - 25th June 2009
Marin Muirwoods 29ER '09I have just gone and ordered myself a new bike from the Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Operative. It's set me back £549.99, so thank god for credit cards. Which means to say it off, I do at least 9 days of teaching First Aid Courses and not the spend the money on anything else! As long, as I have paid at least half of it off before going End to End cycle in August I will be happy. I can't wait till I get it, all going well I will have it, before the end of next week. The bike I have gone for is the Marin Muirwoods 29ER '09.
Friday - 26th June 2009
Just a quick update on my new bike, I got a email from the Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Operative saying that my new bike will be getting delivered on Wednesday 1st July. I can't wait, till I get it, I will be like a wee kid on Christmas morning.
