Today I went a great cycle from Killearn to Rowardennan on the east side in Loch Lomond. I may have lived in Killearn well over half my life, but it's the first time I have ever cycled to Rowardennan, most times, I just cycled to Balmaha and turned back, mainly since just after Balmaha, they're is a 15% hill to get up. Also the road just ends at Rowardennan. So it's like cycling up a road to no where. Just got a car park for the people walking up Ben Lomond and hotel.

Not really done much at all. I was really hoping to get out a one last cycle, before the drive back to England tomorrow. But it was so, cold I soon changed my mind. Think it was like 8C here in Killearn at the most. They was also lots of fog about, so made it feel even colder. Then I did get in two very good cycles, did a total of 56 miles, so I guess it's not all bad. Also the cycles up here are so much better than the ones I do in England, so many more things to look at it! And some killer hills to cycle up :)

Anyway..... bed time for me!! Got a long old drive in the morning.

I went a fun cycle with my friends Ashley and Rich, we cycled from Peterborough to Huntingdon covering a distance of 46.35 miles. The cycle took us 3:31:52 (h:m:s). It was great fun, makes a change getting to cycle with people, since most times I cycle by myself. Check out connect.garmin.com/activity/55863909 to see the GPS data from the cycle.

Opps not done a update in a good while. Not really done much at all today, did get some good news about job at the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium, which means a bit more money :) Which I am going to put towards doing End to End cycle, which I am hoping to do again, August next year. The other main news of the day is that I watched a new DVD called Tan Lines, that turned up from amazon.co.uk. It was a good film, still not really too sure what to make of it, so need to watch it again.

Well pleased with myself, after today's cycle, I can now say I have done 1,003.4 more miles than I did last year :) The years total now stands at 3,689 miles. So who knows, I may make it up to 4,000 miles before the year is out :)

The main thing I started doing was the long job, of getting my Killearn on the Web site, a much needed new look. I have been meaning to do it for a long time. But it had to be had, since the number of people looking at it at dropped, some times, only getting 10 people a month. When it use to get around 300 every month. So I just hope all the work, pays off! If you could check out the website, and post comments about what you think of it, that would be great! :) If you have any comments about the new look website, please post them here http://killearnontheweb.co.uk/2010/11/new-killearn-website-here-soon/

My new UCI World Cup Team skinsuit turned up in the post, that I ordered off eBay last week sometime. Can't believe just how sexy it, even better it only cost £40, with free P&P. Check out www.gordon-valentine.com/zenphoto/page/search/tags/UCI+world+cup+team+skinsuit to see photos of myself wearing it :) Please feel free to post comments about them!

First of all I would like to say a big thank-you to everyone that looked at the new look Killearn on the Web. It's now the most popular it's been in years. Think I have just about copied all the information and photos over from the old website. Also been using twitter.com/killearnUK a lot more. With all the snow, don't think I could have timed the new look website any better. Since people have been checking it out for the latest local school information which I have been posting via twitter. Now I have started working on a cycling page for routes from Killearn, please check it out at http://killearnontheweb.co.uk/transport/information-for-cyclists/.

The rest of the day, I spent just watching TV and doing some other stuff around the house. Before going to work in the evening.

Speaking about just how much my bike needs a service, I list just some of the things that need fixing. Also at the end of the vlog I show off my new lycra UCI World Cup Team skinsuit.

At long last taken my bike to the local bike shop for a much needed service. It's at least going to need the break break fixing, new back wheel and tire. Also half of the gears don't work. I can see it costing between £100 to £150 to get it all fixed. Saying that, that's not too bad, since it's never had a service in the whole time I've had it. Must have done at least 7,000 miles since getting it. Just hope that Terry Wright Cycles do a good job of fixing it. Can't wait to get it back. Since I now have less than 20 miles to go, then I will have done 4,000 miles this year :)
Monday - 20th December 2010
Got my bike back at long, last! The service/rebuild come to a total of £277.69. A lot more than I was planning, but at least I have him back now. So that's the main thing. Can't wait till tomorrow to take him, out for a spin. Was hoping go out a spin today, which it's been so cold, not gone above -6C all day. So really hope that Terry Wright Cycles have done a good done in fixing him. Now only got 17.9 miles till I hit the 4,000 mile mark. Only got two miles till I go to Scotland. Would be well pissed off, if I missed 4,000 by just 17.9 miles.
